Collin County Court at Law 5

Court 5 is a statutory county court and generally speaking has jurisdiction over Class A and B misdemeanor criminal cases, Class C misdemeanor appeals, civil lawsuits within the jurisdictional limit of $500.00 to $250,000.00, and appeals of final rulings and decisions of the division of workers' compensation of the Texas Department of Insurance regarding workers' compensation claims, regardless of the amount in controversy.  Court 5 does not hear family law or probate cases.
